ന്യൂഡൽഹി: 18 നും 59 നും ഇടയിൽ പ്രായമുള്ളവർക്ക് കോവിഡ് വാക്സിന്റെ സൗജന്യ ബൂസ്റ്റർ ഡോസ് നൽകാൻ കേന്ദ്ര മന്ത്രിസഭാ യോഗം തീരുമാനിച്ചു. ജൂലൈ 15 മുതൽ 75 ദിവസമായിരിക്കും വാക്സിന് വിതരണം ചെയ്യുന്നത്.
സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിന്റെ 75 വാർഷികം പ്രമാണിച്ച് ആസാദി കാ അമൃത് മഹോത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായാണ് സൗജന്യ ബൂസ്റ്റർ ഡോസ് നൽകാൻ തീരുമാനിച്ചത്. 18 നും 59 നും ഇടയില് പ്രായമുള്ള 77 കോടി പേരാണുള്ളത്. ഇതില് ഒരു ശതമാനത്തില് താഴെ മാത്രമാണ് ബൂസ്റ്റർ ഡോസ് എടുത്തിട്ടുള്ളത്. 60 വയസും അതിനുമുകളിലും പ്രായമുള്ള 16 കോടി ജനസംഖ്യയിൽ 26 ശതമാനം പേരാണ് ഇതുവരെ ബൂസ്റ്റർ ഡോസ് സ്വീകരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്.
