കത്ത് പൂര്‍ണരൂപത്തില്‍:

Your good self would be aware of the heartbreaking incident of an unfortunate wife from my state of Kerala who was denied the opportunity to meet her ailing husband in Mascot due to the undeclared strike by Air India Express.

Amritha C. Ravi, hailing from Trivandrum, Kerala, has personally submitted a memorandum seeking my intervention to request the Air India Express authorities to provide financial compensation to her family.

Please note that Amritha’s husband, Nambi Rajesh, was working as the IT manager at a school in Mascot. On July 7, 2024, he suffered a major heart attack and was brought to the hospital. Upon receiving this information, Amritha booked a flight ticket for Air India Express flight IX549 on May 8, 2024. However, she was unable to fly since the flight was summarily cancelled due to the strike by Air India Express employees. Her plea for a ticket on alternate flights was denied, but the authorities agreed to issue a ticket for the same flight on May 9, 2024. This flight was also cancelled. Her reimbursement request was also turned down, literally shutting down all options for her to meet her ailing husband.

Her husband, Nambi Rajesh, was discharged from the hospital on May 10, 2024. Sadly, he was found dead in his room on May 13, 2024. According to the memorandum, the tragic situation would have been averted if Amritha had been with him. Her ticket was refunded by the Air India Express two days after the death of Nambi Rajesh.

Amritha and her two little kids have lost their lone breadwinner, leaving them in a state of absolute despair and disarray. She has claimed victim compensation from Air India Express for the irreparable loss suffered by her and her family.

I therefore request your good self to positively examine her request and to offer victim compensation to Amritha and her family.

Her request and associated documents are attachedherewith.
