Essential Job Duties:
Respond promptly to incoming calls, assisting patients with standardized care and benefits navigation, while fostering a friendly and professional rapport over the phone.
Conduct thorough clinical assessments of symptoms to confidently determine the appropriate level of care needed to address patients' medical needs, referring them according to established guidelines.
Adhere to standard procedures and protocols related to the triage service to ensure consistent and quality care.
Educate and communicate recommendations to patients in a clear, patient-friendly manner, ensuring they understand their options.
Successfully connect members with additional internal and external benefits and community resources as needed.
Provide care in alignment with our core values, prioritizing the well-being of every patient.
Offer triage support for urgent prescription needs, ensuring timely assistance.
Serve as the central point of contact for all member emergency escalations, providing reassurance and support.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement efforts.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license, with residency in a compact state and eligibility to obtain licensure in all 50 states.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a triage setting (preferably with some phone triage experience), or 2 years in an emergency room, or 4 years in an ambulatory primary care role that included triage responsibilities.
Ability to work in the Pacific Standard Time (PST) timezone.
Willingness to participate in a rotating holiday and weekend schedule (every 3rd weekend for Full-Time and every other weekend for Part-Time).
Expertise in advanced clinical decision-making, with comfort in handling a wide variety of medical conditions for both pediatric and adult populations.
Experience in complex decision-making, especially in uncertain situations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to gather clinical histories, answer patient questions, and succinctly summarize findings.
Strong proficiency in using multiple computer and medical record systems, as well as Google Suite.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting role-specific metrics without compromising quality. Good judgment in balancing priorities is essential.
Maintain current nursing licensure by timely completion of renewal applications and compliance with continuing education requirements.
