Summary:
The Production & Demand Planning Manager will work closely with ownership and key management team members to optimize planning cycles. Regularly analyze and report on inventory risks, trend evaluations, and supporting company strategies to meet fill rates and control inventories. Collaborate closely with key stakeholders (Directors of Planning & Production, IT, and Winemaking) to ensure processes are integrated, adequately supporting business needs/expansion, and improving productivity while reducing downtime and loss to balance demand from production, inventory, and sales.
Reports to: Director of Procurement and Production Planning
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
You Will:
Work closely with the Sales department to review sales data to predict upcoming demand (such as timing of sales, upcoming promotions, new stores/states opening, holiday and how clients pull inventory).
Create and manage the bottling production schedule for the upcoming quarter and assist Production Planner on any daily changes.
Prioritize the needs of the sales department alongside the bottling line capacity by ensuring adjustments are made based on materials available.
Balance capacity on the bottling line for the upcoming quarter and assist Production Planner with any daily changes.
Review long term forecast (>8 weeks) and plan production accordingly following the cyclical nature of wine sales and vintage transitions.
Monitor production activity to ensure inventory meets sales requirements.
Perform routine analysis and reporting on sales projections vs. bottling plan, bottling production vs open sales orders to ensure proper inventory levels.
Manage inventory of finished product by identifying any shortage and/or surplus of finished product; make recommendations to Sales and Board.
Serve as the central point of contact for all communication that affects production planning between affected departments.
Responsible for data entry of project forms and item creation and generating and updating run information in company software systems.
Plan and lead weekly production meeting, weekly Sales & Planning meeting, and monthly bulk wine meeting.
Work closely with Production Planner.
Other duties as assigned.
You Have:
High level of business acumen with the ability to create advanced projections with an eye on continual improvement.
Ability to analyze orders to determine bottling schedules and maximize efficiency.
Full proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Experience with BC software system preferred.
Experience with inventory and tracking software suites, planning tools and programs.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Experience interpreting data to create strategies and set goals.
Able to multitask, prioritize, delegate, and manage time effectively.
Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries.
Must be able to work effectively with all levels of management.
Experience working in a large-scale winery production facility preferred.
College degree required in related field.
