Position Summary In support of LCC's enrollment, retention and graduation goals, established and administers programs for recruiting students to Luna Community College, Independently represents, the institution to targeted constituencies and/or territories. Develops and implements strategies to enhance recruitment.
Duties & Responsibilities - Represents LCC to targeted constituents,; visits elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and colleges; speaks to groups and individual student; meets with school counselors, administrators and/or other constituent grous to promote outreach activities and, as required, to assist other recruiters.
-Provides career and academic counseling, planning, and advising to potential students, utilizing specific knowledge educational programs and degrees at LCC and other institutions.
-Coordinates participation of staff and alumni for national and local college recruitment fairs, conferences and related outreach events;
-Coordinates LCC recruiting events, and associated promotional materials and information from all areas of the college.
-Prepares reports and proposals regarding recruitment and outreach activities, and responds to inquiries from students and community agencies.
Creates packages, monitors and distributes resource materials for student recruitment and retention programs; develops mentorship programs; analyzes trends in recruitment and retention programs; develops and implements strategies for program evaluation.
-Assists students throughout the admissions process, from advising students on admission requirements, to assisting students with admissions, financial aid and other paperwork, through to regular admission status.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
SPECIALIZED ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Although all Admissions Counselors will participate in all student support functions, this position is responsible for maintaining expertise in the following specialized areas. - Serves independently as the point person for internal coordination of student recruitment and enrollment management goals, utilizing specific knowledge gained from admissions, registration criteria and financial aid and/or scholarship information deadlines.
-Coordinates and implements all aspects of large, multi-departmental special events, utilizing presentation and promotional materials and maintaining budgetary and operational controls.
-recruitment related inquiries including phone, email, virtual interaction, and letters.
-Frequently reviews, updates, develops and maintains appropriate procedures to the admission process for all students.
-Works in conjunction with outside school administrators to promote recruitment at LCC.
-Establishes, maintains, and implements a yearly high school visitation schedule and calendar of other college wide recruitment activities and events.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
