തിരുവനന്തപുരം: റഷ്യന്‍ സൈന്യത്തിലേക്ക് കേരളത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് ഉള്‍പ്പെടെ യുവാക്കളെ സ്വകാര്യ ഏജന്‍സികള്‍ റിക്രൂട്ട് ചെയ്യുന്നത് സംബന്ധിച്ച വിഷയത്തില്‍ കേന്ദ്ര സര്‍ക്കാരിന്‍റെ അടിയന്തര ഇടപെടല്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് വിദേശകാര്യ മന്ത്രി എസ്. ജയശങ്കറിന് പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവ് വി.ഡി. സതീശന്‍ കത്തയച്ചു. യുദ്ധമേഖലയില്‍ കുടുങ്ങിക്കിടക്കുന്ന മൂന്ന് മലയാളി യുവാക്കളെ മടക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുവരണമെന്നും നിയമവിരുദ്ധ മനുഷ്യക്കടത്ത് ശൃംഖലയുടെ ഭാഗമായ റിക്രൂട്ട്മെന്‍റ് ഏജന്‍സികള്‍ക്കെതിരെ അന്വേഷണം നടത്തണമെന്നും പ്രതിപക്ഷ നേതാവ് കത്തില്‍ ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.

I am writing to request your immediate intervention on the shocking revelation that some private recruitment companies in Kerala have been recruiting young people to go to war-battered Ukraine after tempting them with the prospect of a lucrative employment in Russia.

It is disturbing to learn that three young men from Kerala are among those stranded in war-torn Ukraine after being lured with the promise of a lucrative employment in Russia, only to be forced to engage in the continuing conflict.

According to the relatives of the three men, they were taken to Russia by a recruitment agency with the promise of a whopping salary of Rs 2.5 lakh. But when they arrived, their passports and mobile phones were confiscated and were then forced to fight for Russia against Ukraine. It is learned that some of them are injured and their families back home have raised serious apprehension on the safety of the youths stranded in Ukraine.

I believe that this is part of a trafficking network that entice young men to work in Russia and send them for the war.

I urge your good self to make every effort to bring back all of those who are stuck in the combat zone and to initiate a comprehensive investigation against these recruitment agencies that form part of a large illegal trafficking network.
