Warehouse Manager

The Role
This position is responsible for the direct management and handling of all warehousing and distribution functions at the warehouse facilities. This includes accountability for inbound and outbound freight, as well as adherence to legislative, safety, and organizational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to clients, vendors, and service providers.
  • Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service.
  • Ensure all shipping orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner in adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Monitors performance metrics (KPIs) for each operation.
  • Communicate all discrepancies or delays in inbound/outbound freight to the appropriate departments or clients.
  • Maintain strict control over inventory levels to meet internal and external demand of product, by conducting physical counts and reconciling with data storage system.
  • Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations.
  • Schedule and oversee warehouse team and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime.
  • Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Ability to manage a group of +20 employees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
  • Hire and terminate employees.
  • Assign tasks to team members.
  • Assists with training and guidance of direct reports.
  • Monitor work volumes of direct reports to ensure entries are completed to customs regulations guidelines.
  • Supervise team members, conduct team meetings, monitor attendance, and work schedules.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, International Trade or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
  • Minimum 5 years proven warehouse management experience.
  • Leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • High level of organization, time management and attention to detail.
  • Bilingual (fluent in both Spanish/English) (US SB only)
  • Advanced MS Office knowledge.
  • OSHA warehouse safety regulations knowledge.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Software.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally bend, squat, kneel, reach above shoulder, and frequently sit, handle objects (manual dexterity), use fine finger movement.
  • Occasionally must carry/lift loads of up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Occasionally exposed to excessive noise, is around moving machinery.
  • Frequently read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, reason and analyse.
