Job Title: Education Specialist-FWC, OPS
Working Title: Assistant Camp Director, Ocala Conservation Camp

Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (ET); Monday to Friday. Schedule shifts for summer camp and requires staying overnight on site (June and July). Some weekends/evenings during travel, events, and public events and program activities may occasionally require hours in excess of 8 hours per day.
List of Subordinates Supervised: Assists in supervision of 35 OPS summer camp staff.

Overview:
The FWC is seeking a self-motivated, energetic, outcome-oriented individual to serve as the Ocala Conservation Center (OCC) Assistant Camp Director in Silver Springs. This full-time OPS position will work with the OCC Director to deliver hands-on educational programs designed to engage youth in wildlife conservation and shooting sports.
As a part of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commisison (FWC), this role communicates with stakeholders, constituents, and partners and performs functions of this position with a strong understanding of the FWC’s mission, future goals, and practices. Conveys the vision through effective programming, training, and outreach at the Ocala Conservation Center.
Interested individuals must be passionate about encouraging youth to get outside to create the next generation that cares about fish and wildlife resources. The Assistant Camp Director will provide hands-on fishing, boating, shooting sports, wildlife discovery, and conservation education activities to a diverse audience of youth and families.

Assist with the design and implementation of OCC site-specific conservation education programs, displays, and resources relevant to FWC’s Florida Youth Conservation Centers Network’s (FYCCN) Four Pillars: Safe Boating, Wildlife Exploration, Shooting Sports, and Ethical Angling.
Ensure camps and educational field experiences comply and operate according to American Camp Association (ACA) standards.
Perform administrative duties as required.
