Fusion HCR is hiring! Direct Hire, On-Site Network Engineer.

Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join their team in Las Vegas. This role focuses on transitioning and optimizing the network infrastructure with FortiGate technology. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to best practices, mentor junior staff, and play a critical role in a 24/7 retail operation. The role reports to the Vice President and provides the chance to grow within a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Transition network infrastructure to FortiGate from SonicWall and Dell solutions.
• Design and implement best practices for network engineering, including scalability and security.
• Benchmark and establish operational standards for a growing network environment.
• Train and mentor junior technicians to develop their networking and systems knowledge.
• Collaborate with the VP and team to align network infrastructure with business goals.
• Provide after-hours support for the 24/7 retail operation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with FortiGate implementation, configuration, and management (key requirement).
• Hands-on expertise with SonicWall and Dell technologies (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN, VPN, wireless networking, firewalls, and Layer 2/3 switches.
• Experience in 24/7 operations environments with an emphasis on network reliability.
• Relevant certifications (Fortinet NSE, Cisco, or equivalent) and a degree in Computer Science or related field are highly valued.
• Emphasis on expertise with security measures like MFA, anti-virus, and data backup systems.
• Experience with scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell.

• Previous experience in a similarly sized organization, ideally within retail or service industries.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a customer-focused mindset.
• Excellent communication abilities for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
