PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Junior Web Developer will monitor, support, and maintain implementations of web applications with a focus on delivering modern solutions for ADL's web, digital ecosystem. The Junior Web Developer will coordinate with internal/external stakeholders to gather business and technical project requirements to design, develop, implement, and deploy web experiences. Responsibilities: Primary - Design, develop, troubleshoot, maintain, document, and deploy enterprise-level web applications in Drupal and WordPress.
- Provide technical, web, and digital support to internal users.
- Coordinate testing and deliverables with external vendors.
- Gather, analyze, and translate business and functional requirements into technical design specifications.
- Manage process for creating web forms, assist in the process of connecting ADL.org web forms to Salesforce and maintain/troubleshoot going forward.
- Develop software solutions using MS tools and 3rd party APIs.
- Liaise with internal clients and users to understand their business needs in developing solutions.
- Assist in maintaining all ADL websites.
- Participate in the entire web application development life cycle from the concept stage to delivery and post-launch support.
- Ensure proper technical and support documentation.
- Collaborate with IT Service Desk to provide best customer service experience.
- Assist with performing Root Cause Analysis on major issues with a focus on finding ways to prevent repeated future problems.
Qualifications: Skills: - Understanding of the software development life cycle methodologies.
- Solid understanding of Drupal and WordPress architecture.
- Strong front and backend web development skills using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, and MySQL.
- Strong analysis, problem-solving abilities, and a technical eye for detail.
- Understanding of User Experience, User Acceptance Testing, and Regression Testing concepts.
- Security/Risk awareness of Drupal and WordPress security best practices to ensure the platforms' safety.
- Basic understanding of project management methodologies such as SCRUM Agile, Waterfall, hybrid.
- Functional knowledge of cloud-based hosting architectures.
- Knowledge of Apache Solr Search preferred.
- Knowledge of Salesforce API framework preferred.
- Highly self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision, process oriented, and a great team player.
- Very strong customer service orientation.
- Able to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Work Experience: - The ideal candidate has several years' experience as a web developer.
- Experienced with Drupal site building, administration, patching, maintenance, Drush, Composer, and Twig Templates.
- Experienced with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery.
- Experienced with responsive cross-browser website development.
- Experienced with building user interfaces (UI) for websites and/or web applications.
- Experienced with browser debugging tools such as Developer Tools.
- Experienced with code versioning tools such as Git or Bitbucket.
- Experienced with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML).
Education: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, related field or equivalent professional experience.
Work Environment: - ADL is a hybrid environment; this role may require 3 days in the office.
Compensation: - This position has a salary range of $58,000 to $83,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, New York. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
