Interior Designer II Location Irvine, CA :
Essential Functions : - Drafts intermediate interior design plans and construction documents using Revit (floor plans, schedules, lighting plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations and sections, etc.) and assembles into a cohesive package.
- Prepares schematic and conceptual design packages. Presents to clients for feedback and approval as directed.
- Utilizes skills from the following areas to complete intermediate interior design projects/tasks:
- Building Codes: proficient understanding of the California Building Code (CBC) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. Applies the CBC and ADA requirements in drawings/plans.
- Software: effectively utilizes Revit, Enscape, AutoCAD, and Adobe Photoshop to provide intermediate drawings, renderings, and presentations.
- Constructability: proficient understanding of building components and how structures/furnishings are constructed.
- Materials: proficient understanding of materials and how they work with one another.
- Space Planning: plans spaces for flow, optimal utilization, and overall synergy.
- Requests for Information: independently answers questions on construction drawings.
- Creates intermediate hand sketches as needed.
- Using BOMA standards, accurately calculates building square footages.
- Modifies or refines designs to conform to project owner's specifications, production limitations, functionality, cost effectiveness or changes in design trends.
- With minimal direction from management, researches construction specifications and alternative product materials and provides cost estimates. Coordinates with vendors for pricing and availability; coordinates schedules with vendors.
- Coordinates and collaborates with in-house teams on interior design, construction progress, and marketing/graphics.
- Organizes and maintains Design Material Library.
- Creates and maintains information for furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) based on company standards via shared reports including but not limited to Smartsheet and SharePoint.
- Prints/plots construction documents and rendering presentations as needed
- Visits jobsites to gather field dimensions
- Tracks, coordinates, and schedules product installment dates; coordinates with construction crew and outside vendors on multiple concurrent projects to ensure appropriate progress.
- Updates global address sheet with up to date floor plans as changes occur.
- Generates miscellaneous graphic designs as needed.
- Uses personal vehicle to transport/purchase materials and furniture to various locations as necessary. Travels to satellite labs and residential properties as directed.
- Tracks inventory supply and replenishes and/or places special order request when needed.
- Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
Education and Experience: - College degree in Architecture or Interior Design from accredited school/college.
- Minimum of four (4) years of related experience.
Special Requirements/Certification: - Valid California state driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
- Must have reliable personal transportation with at least the state minimum insurance coverage; use of personal vehicle is required for essential functions.
Pay Range 25.00-32.00hr
