DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH & SPORT SCIENCES Assistant Professor/Instructor in Allied Health Otterbein University is seeking applicants for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor of Allied Health. Appointment may be made at the Instructor level for an otherwise qualified candidate who lacks a terminal degree. We seek candidates with a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching, advising and research, as well as to diversity, equity, and inclusion, who will contribute to the Department's efforts to enhance diversity and provide an inclusive learning environment for all.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of teaching, research, advising, and involvement in department activities are required. The teaching load is 4 + 3 (Assistant Professor) or 4 + 4 (Instructor). This position requires a commitment to teaching in a comprehensive liberal arts-based institution along with a dedication to service to the Department, University, community and the profession. The successful candidate will assist other faculty members in recruiting students to this major. They will also play a role in retaining current Allied Health students through strong advising and engagement activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
A doctorate degree in Allied Health or Health Sciences or a similar field of study is required for the tenure-track position. Three years of teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred. Practice in an Allied Health field (physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, physician assistant, or other related health field) is required. The successful candidate will engage in student-centered pedagogy.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
COMPENSATION: For the rank of Assistant Professor - $71,500 plus full university benefits. If the appointment is made at the Instructor level - $62,000 plus full university benefits.
START DATE: August 2025.
DEPARTMENT: The Department consists of seven full-time faculty and several part-time faculty members, and offers majors in Allied Health, Exercise Science and Health Promotion, Public Health Education, Sport Management, Allied Health/Pre-Athletic Training Concentration and minors in Exercise Science and Health Promotion, Public Health Education, Nutrition and Sport Management.
