Summary
This position is within the DHS, FEMA, Region 2, Mitigation Division, Risk Analysis Branch, located in New York, NY. The ideal candidate for this position will possess knowledge of and experience with Mitigation Grant Programs, Federal grants management and administration. This experience will include analyzing grant proposals, making recommendation for award, monitoring and closeout activities.

Duties
What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will complete the duties of an Emergency Management Specialist (Mitigation) in support of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). Typical assignments include:
- Providing advisory services, authoritative technical advice, and data analysis to senior leadership and management and provides recommendations regarding interpretation of data for analytical deliverables (e.g., statistical analyses, reports, dashboards, user stories, workforce data, etc.).
- Propose plans that are well developed and account for potential difficulties with alternative solutions and approaches.
- Conducting briefings and presentations, including senior officials, and deals responsibly on important and sensitive matters with agency personnel and other parties outside the agency.
- Developing, updating, and maintaining a program budget.
- Review proposed Federal grant applications, make recommendation for award, perform grant monitoring and closeout activities

Qualifications The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for this position at the
GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the
GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
- Developing and implementing Dam Safety Program or High Hazards Potential Dam Mitigation Programs; AND
- Implementing and/or administering state or federal mitigation programs; AND
- Briefing internal and external stakeholders on mitigation programs; AND
- Analyzing collected data and creating reports, etc.
