Education and Case Specialist (ETHICS AND CMPLNC PROFL 3) Job Summary Under general supervision of the Harassment & Discrimination Assistance and Prevention Program (HDAPP) Director, this position receives and responds to complaints, reports and inquiries from all UCD/UCDH community members regarding discrimination (including hate/bias incidents), harassment (including sexual harassment), and sexual violence (sexual assault, domestic and dating violence, and stalking). Provides information regarding relevant policies and procedures to departments and individuals. Works with all members of the UCD/UCDH community to promote the goals of HDAPP. Provides leadership in developing, facilitating and evaluating educational programs and materials on preventing and responding to complaints of discrimination (including hate/bias incidents), harassment (including sexual harassment), and sexual violence (sexual assault, domestic and dating violence, and stalking).

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in related area and/or three years of experience/training.
- Experience researching and analyzing complex issues and problems, and developing and applying recommendations and solutions.
- Experience reading, understanding, interpreting, applying and communicating policies and procedures.
- Experience utilizing professional judgment, interpersonal skills, tact, and discretion (in person, on the phone, and in writing) to handle difficult, sensitive, and highly confidential situations diplomatically; and to interact professionally and sensitively with individuals from diverse cultural background and perspectives, to include public relations skills to conduct outreach and representation.
- Experience developing, presenting, teaching, and evaluating instructor-led and online courses to adult learners on topics including or similar to sexual harassment, discrimination, sexual violence or diversity.
- Knowledge of state and federal compliance issues, including discrimination, harassment, hate/bias and sexual violence.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience helping others develop professionally.
- Skill to identify political or potentially volatile situations.

Department Overview The Harassment & Discrimination Assistance and Prevention Program (HDAPP) serves the entire UCD/UCDH community of staff, academics, students, patients, visitors, and volunteers. HDAPP advises individuals and management on the successful resolution of complaints of all forms of discrimination (including hate/bias incidents), harassment (including sexual harassment), sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking. With a strong emphasis on prevention and risk-reduction, HDAPP develops targeted educational and outreach programming to address the needs of each constituent group. HDAPP coordinates three multidisciplinary case management teams and works closely with other campus and UCDH units on conflict resolution strategies, training and policy compliance.
Administratively, HDAPP is part of the Compliance and Policy Unit in the Office of the Chancellor.

- While this position supports both UCD and UCDH, this position is primarily located on the Davis campus at 207 3rd Street, Suite 210, Davis, CA 95616. Occasional travel between Davis and Sacramento, as well as other potential locations.
