This job produces professional liability claims history for credentialing purposes.

Education
Required – High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience
Required – 3 years in paralegal or administrative support role in defense-oriented law firm.
Preferred – Prior experience in support of litigation defense teams in medical professional liability cases.
Certifications
Preferred – Accredited paralegal certificate.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge of legal terminology.
Ability to pay high attention to detail and analyze complex litigation and coverage scenarios.
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Job Duties
Investigates, resolves, and responds to inquiries for documentation on professional liability insurance coverage and claims histories (information on legal claims, lawsuits, or judgments for all enrolled health care providers, said information being required for clinical providers for routine credentialing and re-credentialing) from external sources, including credentialing offices, insurance companies, and individual providers (both currently and formerly insured).
Investigates, resolves, and responds to professional liability insurance coverage and claims history inquiries from organization sources, including the Ochsner Health Credentialing Verification Office (“CVO”), medical staff offices, and individual providers (both currently and formerly insured).
Provides general and comprehensive support to Ochsner Health Risk and Litigation Management Practice Group within the Legal Affairs Department on management, review, and analysis of professional and general liability claims.
Supports the litigation support office as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
